Global beauty brand and content specialist Wishcompany (CEO Soungho Park) announced on the 20th that it has developed a video emotion recognition AI model in collaboration with Sangmyung University. This model will be applied to the production of meditation content for the company's wellness brand, “Mind Nook.”

Guided by its philosophy of positive beauty, Wishcompany launched the Mind Nook brand in 2021 to offer wellness content, including meditation and sleep-focused mental health services. In 2022, the company invested in “TOOEASY,” an operator of “Lucid Island,” a meditation-based mental wellness platform. Mind Nook has since amassed over 3.15 million subscribers across platforms like YouTube and TikTok, offering diverse content such as ASMR and white noise. To date, it has produced over 800 audio tracks, with 470 commercially released.

The newly developed “Digital Content Emotion Recognition AI Model” enables the rapid and efficient production of emotionally tailored wellness content, even when based on identical scenarios. Professor Mincheol Whang's research team at Sangmyung University analyzed over 450 ASMR wellness videos, classifying image and sound features into 14 categories. They trained a deep learning model to produce videos targeting four primary emotions desired by viewers: focus, vitality, relaxation, and comfort.

Using this AI model is straightforward. When a user uploads a video, it automatically analyzes the characteristics of its images and sounds. Based on this analysis, the model provides emotional recognition results for both the video's visual and auditory elements, as well as an overall emotional assessment. To bolster its technological competitiveness, Wishcompany has completed a patent application for this AI model.

Hansaem Ma, Senior Manager of Mind Nook, stated, “We analyzed and digitized the characteristics affecting the autonomic and central nervous systems while watching wellness content and trained the AI model. With an impressive emotional recognition accuracy rate of 81%, we expect this model to not only enhance the emotional resonance of our content but also support the creation of meaningful meditation and wellness videos.”

Building on this innovative model, videos incorporating the Mind Nook emotion recognition AI can be experienced through the second version of its meditation cards, the "Mindfulness Question Cards." The cards will be available from January 24 through the official website, Kyobo Book Centre, and Hottracks online mall.
